Matthew 28: 9b "Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!”"

Remember dear saints,

"When you've prayed every prayer that you know how to pray.
Just remember the Lord will hear and the answer is on it's way.

Our God is able.
He is mighty.
He is faithful.

And He never sleeps, He never slumbers.
He never tires of hearing our prayer.

Do you feel that the Lord has forgotten your need.
Just remember that God is always working in ways you cannot see."

Hi Sis (reply to a beloved sister),

Inside me, i am really happy and want you to know how blessed you are, i tell u this in case u did not realise it. Our Lord is not sitting watching at you, but He is standing and looking at u. I hope u know the different between sitting and standing. Do u know what is the first word that the Lord appeared to His disciple. He said " Rejoice". He knew that all His disciple have lost their hope when our Lord had crucified on the cross. The moment He appeared to them, He has take away their fear and worry. He became their shield and strength. The feeling that u have that prompt u to look again at the video (Psalm 23) is truly the leading of the Holy Spirit. And i m glad that our Lord know all our situation and we helps one another. So in future, if you have any anxiety, believe me, He is standing there looking at u. Do u know which portion did our Lord stand up? it is found in the portion of ACTS just before stepher was martyred. So, look onto HIM. Just do your best, He will the rest. And indeed u "rest" in Him. I will pray for u. Not easy, i know. Cried onto HIM if is needed.

Coming back to God

I wanted to blog about how far I have drifted away from the Lord, feeling like He's a gazillion light years away from me, ever since I've plunged myself in a crazy attempt to start studying for my exams starting 25th nov, and still not getting anywhere.

( skipped sunday meeting last week, missed campus meeting in school on monday, missed campus meeting on friday, won't be going for YYP meeting tmr... I still read the bible though, but the only thing that seems creeping closer and closer to me are the eminent arrivals of my dreadful exams, and God is just way up there, sitting on His throne, too far to reach...)

I almost laughed the other day when I picked up the birthday card from a sister and read what she had written for me " .... that you really enjoy the Word almost everyday!!" God! like when did that last happen? a thousand years ago??

I was feeling so far away from the Lord, when...

Something inside me told me to take another look at the Psalms 23 video Bro Kok Yong sent over. I briefly looked through it a while ago while i was rushing an assignment, but looking through it again this time, it TOUCHED ME DEEPLY....

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

( Lord lead me in the way I should study...)

He maketh me to lie down in gren pastures;

He leads mee to lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside the still waters.

( Lead my mind to all these nice places now Lord. there's hurricanes, thunderstorms and tsunamis in my head, I need to go to a peaceful quiet place before I go siao)

He restores my soul;

He leads me in the paths of righteousness

( however tough the exams may be, may i never start to cheat, like some of my PFM classmates do)

For His name's sake.

( studying all this is for You Lord, that's what You want me to do)

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

( need I say more? it's only few days more )

I will fear no evil;

For You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff,

they comfort me.

( that I can still eat my breakfast properly on days i have papers, and not start coughing and feel like throwing up)

God, i want to repent of all my stubbornness and folly of not coming back to You for help when I study. I know that thru Jesus, You've forgiven me and I want to come back to the shadow of Your wings.

Dear Saint,

Do not be little over one sms (bible verse) to saints. My Enjoyment:

One morning , i received a verse from a saint. I read it with gladness because in her busy schedule, she still remember the Lord and sent out verse to encourage one another.

Out of the blue, a sister sent me a sms saying : "Hi bro, can you sent me a verse or few verses, i am in the train now, forget to bring bible" so , Praise the Lord, all i need to do is just to send that verse whom i have received from the sister and forward to that sister in the train and to add few more verses.

Praise the Lord!!

I was "rewarded" by the Lord!!!

Praise the Lord, despite a long & tiring week, i was "rewarded" by the Lord over 3 incidents over the weekend (Friday, Sat and Sun). That "Reward" was not in a form of monetary or food reward. It was the reward of "Unspeakable Joy and Strength".

Incident (1) Friday: The Hymn Singing of a Christian Group.
I was refreshed and strengthen in the Lord when i heard a group of christian singing their hearts out to the Lord. The guitar, the clapping and the voices !!! Oh Lord, Praise You, pray that in the last days, Dear Lord, gain more youth and young people.


Incident (2) Sat : I've prayed hard for you.
"Bro Kok Yong, how's the preparation of the msg for today? I've prayed hard for you. So, just trust in the Lord and do your best. Trust in Him always, =)"

I was indeed joyful when i received this sms from a youth. Praise the Lord!, serving ones need lots of lots of prayer and encouragement for all of u, dear youth. Continue to pray for us.


Incident (3) Sun : What verse can i use ........
"bro, what verse can i use to encourage someone to ................................". Without hestiation, i call ed a brother (as i was driving) to help me to get that verse from the word of God. Yes, His word is truth and life. I was glad and joyful because i saw the reality of "brotherly love" among the youth and this is not the first time, the other time was a brother who sms me around 12am asking me for a verse to help his friend who was sad, and the other time was when another brother ask for a verse to comfort a friend who loves one has passed away. Let us learn to love and care for one another.
But of course, i pray that all of u, dear youth, u will be able to store up the words of God yourself in your heart. Having say that, all of u are welcome to call me or sms me if you need help or prayer.

John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

Above all, all i can say is :
Lord, thank you so much for the Love that u have given to me. Thank you for the encouragement that u alway "created" to cheer me, pray that i may have the strength to continue to serve you faithfully, and bring more youth and young people to know you truthfully. Love u Lord Jesus Christ.

Children, do obey , love and pray for your parents

“When reading through your blog, I felt some verses could also be used to describe how as children we should also learn to love and pray for our earthly parents. Sometimes we tend to end up in quarrels with our parents, or vice versa, and I was very touched by the prayer about "Lord, please change me",if only we could practice such a prayer everyday... oh so beautiful.....

"Dear LORD, please, I need your help. Change me, I pray. Change how I respond to my parents when I am tired or cranky. Fill me with Your Holy Love that I may be the child You created me to be that I may have the desire and love for my parents that You intended for parents and children to share in unity. Help me to know their needs, being sensitive to all that is going on in their each and every day. Grant me understanding and patience. Show me where I need to change to be a godly child, pleasing You, LORD." ”

It was the email that i have received this morning from a brother after reading “how to say I love you” in the marriage blog. I told him that i will tried to share something along this line.

Before we are saved:

We are rebellious by default because we were born sinner

Fruit of the Spirit

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

And if anyone says, “I love God”.....

1Jo 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

1Jo 4:20 If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother (parents), he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

Our attitude as children

Pro 1:8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching,

Eph 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

Eph 6:2 "Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise),

Eph 6:3 "that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land."
