Obedience, Fellowship & Service (O.F.S.)
Dear saints,
This morning i would to share what i have enjoyed last night during our home meeting. The theme was : The 3 big principles in the body of Christ. And that Obedience, Fellowship & Service. In short : OFS.
1) Obedience : We need to obey the Head of the body, which is Christ.
"And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him (Jesus Christ) to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all". (Eph 1:22-23)
2) Fellowship : As the body with many parts and all are wonderfully and fearfully made by God, we need to come to together to meek each one needs. Not only there is a need to fellowship with God, there is also a need to fellowship with the body, the saints.
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well". (Psalm 139:14)
"For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many. If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually". (1 Cor 12:12-27)
3)Service : As a body of Christ is just like a big family, and in our own family, it is very natural to take up the roles of responsibility when you are of age, of course, sometime, due to unforeseen circumstances, he or she may have to pick up the roles to take care of the family much earlier, may our Lord grant them more Grace.
As such, for us who has been in the church for many years, it is naturally for us to take up some roles of services in the church, it is not a duty, but rather, just like in the family, someone need to cherish and nourish the younger generation. Not just the words of God but also with Tender, Loving & Care.
Lastly, what i had enjoyed the most last night was that i, in the church, not only we need one another, but we also need to have this awareness that many saints has been praying for you and me. I recalled many years back, there was a brother who told me that he always knew that there are saints praying for him. And do you not know that our Lord is our Intercessor?
"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered". (Rom 8:26)
And so, pray for one another in and out, where ever you are. And dear saints, there are people that is praying for you, right now, trust me. Be Blessed!
